Michael Cohen’s new tell-all book about Donald Trump is set to drop in a week. What makes Cohen’s book different is that, unlike a lot of people in Trump’s orbit, Cohen dutifully testified and cooperated with prosecutors when he was asked to. Now, even as the book launches, multiple criminal cases initiated by Cohen are coming to a head, as revealed by Rachel Maddow tonight.

Maddow opened her MSNBC show with the breaking news that Donald Trump’s pal Elliott Broidy, who once used Michael Cohen to silence his mistress, is on the verge of being criminally indicted and is discussing a plea deal. It appears that Cohen’s cooperation has played at least some role in the criminal case against Broidy.

Then Maddow moved on to the new book by Melania Trump’s former friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. The book reveals that the criminal investigation into Trump inauguration financial fraud began when Michael Cohen secretly recorded Wolkoff while she discussed her concerns about where all the money was going. This left Wolkoff with no choice but to cooperate with prosecutors as well – and in her book she reveals that she’s working with prosecutors in three different ongoing criminal cases.

There’s an irony in that Michael Cohen just got out of prison, and now some of the people he testified against are on the verge of going to prison. The real kicker will be how much Cohen has been able to reveal about these criminal cases in his book, which is available for preorder now.
