Shooting takes place outside White House during Donald Trump’s press briefing

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

After holding two ridiculous quasi-press briefings at his country club over the weekend, Donald Trump decided to hold a press briefing today at the White House. He ended up walking out of the second one because he didn’t like a question. Trump once again fled today’s press briefing, but for what appear to be entirely different reasons.

Trump was reading his opening prepared remarks when he suddenly fled the stage, at the apparent behest of the Secret Service. NBC News then reported that the White House was under security lockdown for unclear reasons. Trump has since returned to the stage, and he announced that the Secret Service shot someone outside the White House, who has been taken to the hospital.

Nothing has been publicly announced about the identity or intentions of the shooter, but Trump fans will nonetheless try to claim that this was some kind of assassination attempt against Trump, and that it’s proof the left is somehow violent. But the reality is we don’t yet know anything. There will obviously be more to this story as the evening goes on.
