Louie Gohmert has coronavirus, because of course he does

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert has tested positive for coronavirus. We’ve said from the start that we wouldn’t wish this deadly virus on anyone, so we wish Gohmert well on his recovery. We also wish he’d resign – and frankly, he needs to be disciplined for it.

Louie Gohmert has been refusing to wear a mask during House meetings, and he’s been making a big deal out of refusing to wear a mask. Now that he’s tested positive today, it’s nearly a given that he was infected when he participated in yesterday’s House Judiciary Committee hearing. How many other House members, staffers, or reporters did he expose? How many of them will get sick now?

It’s not that Louie Gohmert forgot to wear his mask or something. He’s made clear that he’s refusing to wear a mask, for deranged ideological reasons. His deranged behavior may have just caused a major coronavirus outbreak in the House of Representatives. We can only hope that everyone who’s been in close contact with him ends up testing negative.
