After NATO dustup, major news outlet in Germany calls for Donald Trump’s ouster
One day after Donald Trump openly attacked NATO leaders to their faces during a NATO summit, and then attacked Germany even more viciously behind its back while speaking with other NATO leaders, it turns out Germany is fighting mad. Moreover, it’s doing so by using the free press, which Trump has come to so deeply resent. One of Germany’s largest news outlets is now outright calling for Donald Trump’s ouster.
In an English-language article titled “It’s Time to Get Rid of Donald Trump” which is clearly aimed at U.S. readers, Der Spiegel opens by declaring that Trump “must be removed from the White House before things get even worse.” The article, penned by Klaus Brinkbäumer, lays out the various ways in which Trump has failed as president and betrayed the ideals of the United States while putting the entire free world at risk in the process, with no hope that he’ll improve his behavior.
The German news outlet goes on to condemn Donald Trump as a “immature boy” and a “miserable politician” and a “miserable boss” among other pejoratives. It then lays out the constitutional methods, such as impeachment and the 25th Amendment, which should be used to oust Trump from office. What stands out as remarkable here is that one of the most important allies of the United States is calling for the outright ouster of a United States President – an unprecedented development.
The Spiegel article concludes that Trump “could, at any time, issue a catastrophic order that would immediately be carried out. That is why the parents cannot afford to take their eyes off him even for a second. They cannot succumb to exhaustion because he is so taxing.
