This is self-sabotagingly stupid even by Donald Trump’s standards

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump openly wishes he were the King of the United States, but instead he’s merely become the king of self-sabotage. His poll numbers were already terrible before the pandemic arrived, but he handled it in such a ridiculous manner, his poll numbers are now even worse. He’s also finding other ways to sabotage his hopes of reelection. This latest one is stupid even by his usual standards.

Trump still hasn’t figured out that marrying himself to the racist traitorous losers of the Confederacy is hurting his numbers, or he’s too far gone to care how badly he’s hurting himself with it. Now he’s taking things even further by threatening to veto pay raises for the troops, in the name of trying to keep military bases named after Confederate traitors.

It’s one thing for Donald Trump to align himself with domestic terrorists. It’s another for him to take money out of the pockets of the troops. Does he think they won’t notice? Trump is now trying to lose the military vote – and if he does, he’s toast.
