It’s all over for Jeff Sessions

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Jeff Sessions has officially failed in his effort at taking back his old Senate seat, losing in a major blowout in tonight’s republican primary contest. This means Sessions is finished in politics, having lost his career as a result of joining the Trump administration before ultimately getting fired for not being corrupt enough.

Sessions, a throughly corrupt racist, deserves every bad thing that’s happening to him. In fact, considering he committed felony perjury during his confirmation hearing, he deserves prison. It’s the latest reminder that getting into bed with Donald Trump almost never works out well for anyone in the end. In fact Trump ended up loudly supporting Sessions’ republican opponent Tommy Tuberville, a reminder that Trump is never loyal to anyone who’s loyal to him.

While the good news is that Jeff Sessions is gone from the race, the bad news is that Tuberville is just as awful. It’s more important than ever that we rally behind Democratic Senator Doug Jones as he attempts to hang onto the Senate seat in Alabama.
