Donald Trump just caved

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Here’s the consistent thing about Donald Trump. When he gets away with villainy, it’s usually because he does it in secret and no one knows about it, or because the public doesn’t care enough about the issue to fight him hard enough on it. When his antics become a controversial big deal, he often backs down, and moves on to his next deranged plot.

It turns out Donald Trump has caved again. Just days after his administration announced that it would use virtual university classes as an excuse to deport international students, Trump is backing down. This is going to save about a million students from being abruptly and baselessly kicked out of the United States.

There are those who will say that Trump still “won” on this issue because he forced us to spend time fighting him on it. But the reality is that Trump and his racist regime very much wanted to get away with this one, and likely would have gotten away with it if we hadn’t fought them so hard on it. Whenever we fight Trump on something with all our might, we usually beat him. Keep that in mind as we head into the election season.
