Donald Trump has bizarre meltdown about the Washington Monument and no one even knows what he’s talking about

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Now that a majority of Americans have finally decided that it’s time for Confederate monuments and statues to go, Donald Trump is siding with the Confederate racist traitors even more loudly than ever. He also appears to think Confederate leaders were Founding Fathers, or… something.

In an incoherent and perhaps hallucinatory tweet this morning, Donald Trump decided that protesters are now trying to knock down the Washington Monument and other similar memorials. It’s not clear how Trump thinks protesters are somehow going to knock down a 555-foot monument – or why Trump thinks “Monument” is spelled “Monumrnt” – but that’s nonetheless what he’s now focusing his time on:

Donald Trump needs to get a grip. He’s realized that he’s on the losing side of the Confederate monument debate, so now he’s creating an imaginary scenario in which protesters are trying to somehow bulldoze half of Washington DC, just so he can come out against these imaginary protesters. This isn’t a winning strategy either. Trump has no idea what he’s even trying to do anymore.
