The real reason Donald Trump just called off his New Hampshire rally
Donald Trump’s Tulsa rally was such a disaster for him – both in terms of embarrassingly low turnout, and in terms of negative coverage for holding a rally during a deadly pandemic – we were left to wonder if he’d end up holding any more rallies.
Since that time Trump has canceled his planned Alabama rally, which he blamed on the reticence of local officials. Now Trump has just announced that he’s canceling his New Hampshire rally as well:
With Tropical Storm Fay heading towards the Great State of New Hampshire this weekend, we are forced to reschedule our Portsmouth, New Hampshire Rally at the Portsmouth International Airport at Pease. Stay safe, we will be there soon! #MAGA2020

.
Technically Trump says he’s rescheduling it. But when you call off an event and you don’t bother to announce a new date for it, you didn’t really reschedule it, did you? There is in fact a tropical storm bearing down on the northeast. But the weather forecast for Portsmouth doesn’t look at all that bad. We can’t say for sure that he’s just using the weather as an excuse to call off what would have been yet another poorly attended rally, but we wouldn’t put it past him.
