Donald Trump’s newest cheating scandal is actually one of his oldest cheating scandals. To the surprise of absolutely no one who’s been paying attention, it turns out Trump cheated on his SATs in order to get into the prestigious Wharton School, according to his niece Mary Trump. Here’s the thing. This could actually cost him.

When a college admissions cheating scandal erupted last year involving multiple celebrities, it prompted quite a bit of reform. Raw Story has flagged the fact that the University of Pennsylvania, where the Wharton School is located, has instituted a new policy for revoking degrees from students who engage in practices such as “providing false information on an application for admission.”

This quickly becomes troublesome for Donald Trump, because if Mary Trump’s assertion can be proven, it’ll mean that Donald is in clear violation of the rule that would lead to his degree being revoked. This would be a thoroughly embarrassing blow for the sitting President of the United States, and particularly for an insecure narcissist who has spent a lot of time making silly accusations about President Obama’s academic history.

It would also come at a time when Donald Trump’s approval rating numbers are dropping at least partly due to the growing perception that he’s a dishonest fraud. Having his college degree revoked could end up being more of a blow to Trump right now, under these circumstances, than it otherwise would have. Maybe Trump’s lifelong patterns of cheating will finally cost him.
