Donald Trump is the enemy of the American people

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If you believe Kayleigh McEnany — and you’d better put your therapist on danger money if you make a habit of it — there’s no consensus within the intelligence community that Taliban thugs are being paid by Putin to murder American soldiers in Afghanistan. That’s news to MI-6, the foreign intelligence service of the government of the United Kingdom. Because while Kayleigh and her inner cabal of White House spinners of lies are rubbing their hands together and chuckling over what to tell “the fools” (i.e., the American people) which lie they’re going to run with: Trump wasn’t informed, the info was not credible so Trump wasn’t informed or the info wasn’t credible and Trump was informed but he forgot — British intelligence knew about it and were treating it as credible. British intelligence was, in fact, telling her to hold their room temperature beer. They got this.

That information, known to a foreign ally that is vital to the security and fundamental military efficacy of the United States, is either not known to the president of the United States or known and considered a matter of indifference, is beyond the pale of incompetence. It is criminal indifference. It is a gross dereliction of duty. If ever there was a time that Donald Trump needed to be impeached — again — this is it. What we are faced with in the light of this latest revelation isn’t just that the president of the United States is stupid and incompetent and wholly and utterly unqualified to continue in his current capacity, but that he is a clear and present danger to the security of the entire world.

A president who would allow his own troops to be murdered because he doesn’t want to alienate an evil and powerful man he admires is deranged beyond redemption. Trump admires Putin the way a disaffected teenager might admire Hitler, a teenager who is so full of hatred and dangerous alienation that he might one day grab daddy’s gun and go around murdering people. The adolescent in the Oval Office is so dangerous that I no longer believe we can afford to have him serve as president of the United States for even the seven months or so he has remaining. Donald Trump must go and he must go now.

The men and women who have too long served this lying psychopath also must go. The excuse makers, the explainer, the spinners, the lickspittles, the counterfeiters of moral outrage, the equivocators, the baiters and switchers, the whatabouters, all of them must depart and never come back. America is the land of Abraham Lincoln not Charles Ponzi.

While Donald Trump was tweeting about the “do-nothing Democrats,” he knew that Putin was paying Afghanis to murder American soldiers and did nothing. Yet it’s the Democrats who are the “do-nothings.” When I noticed his twitter account was light on activity over the weekend I considered that he might be doing something at last about the recent revelation that Putin is murdering American troops. Turns out he was playing two full rounds of golf. I should have known better.

What little Trump has to say about the whole thing is summarized in his retweets of nut-jobs like Geraldo Rivera and Kayleigh McEnany herself, that it’s all another “Russia hoax” or some misunderstanding. That there’s nothing to see here. Clearly Trump wants to get back to his golf game.

The truth of the matter is Vladimir Putin is a psychopath and Donald Trump loves him more than he cares about the soldiers he so frequently claims to support. Putin just hoodwinked his own people into mounting a referendum that would change the Russian Constitution to leave him in power until the year 2036, when Putin will be 84. Trump admires dictators like Putin because he wants to be just like him, he wants to cling to power strictly for his own enrichment and power. That is why he is so full of praise for thugs like Kim Jong Un and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Jair Bolsonaro. Trump truly is just an unstable, disaffected teenager in love with Hitler.

And so, “Mr. President,” — j’accuse! I accuse you! You are the enemy of the people! You are the enemy of Democracy! You are the enemy of the world! You are the fake news, the lawlessness and the disorder, the hectoring, ignorant, self-dealing minority. For crimes against humanity, you, Donald John Trump, must depart and never return. This latest revelation is the final straw. In the words of Emil Zola, “It will leave an indelible stain on your presidency.” In the words of Oliver Cromwell, “You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!” And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
