Donald Trump has “P.T. Barnum” moment as his Tulsa rally turns into even more of a disaster
Donald Trump’s political antics are such a con game and a spectacle, he’s often been compared to the late hype man P.T. Barnum – the major difference being that Barnum never committed treason. Trump’s upcoming rally in Tulsa is taking the circus act metaphor to deranged and likely deadly lengths – and now Trump is indeed having his P.T. Barnum moment.
Trump posted this tweet:
I just spoke to the highly respected Mayor of Tulsa, G.T. Bynum, who informed me there will be no curfew tonight or tomorrow for our many supporters attending the #MAGA Rally. Enjoy yourselves – thank you to Mayor Bynum! @gtbynum

The minute we saw it, the first thing we thought of is that Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum’s name has an uncanny resemblance to that of P.T. Barnum. Sure enough, we weren’t the only ones who saw it that way, as “P.T. Barnum” quickly began trending. In a way, it’s fitting: this Tulsa rally is a deranged circus act, so of course the city’s mayor – who is now making it worse by lifting a curfew that was put in place for safety reasons – has a name like this.
