No wonder Donald Trump is starting to lose the Republican vote

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3360 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

From the start of this, Palmer Report has pointed out that Donald Trump’s “base” was largely irrelevant. They weren’t a large enough group to get him elected to begin with, and they’re not large enough to get him reelected either. Half of Trump’s approval rating has always come from people who never loved him and only supported him passively.

Part of the reason we’re seeing Donald Trump’s numbers dropping off so badly of late is that a lot of his non-base supporters have simply had enough. They were never fully committed to voting for him again, and now he’s given them a good reason not to. That includes a number of conservatives and Republicans. This new TV ad from Republican Voters Against Trump sums up part of why Trump is cratering:

If the above video won’t load on your device, go here to watch it. Of course we can’t ask anti-Trump Republicans to do all the work for us. Democrats, liberals, and moderates have to turn out in record numbers for Joe Biden in order to make sure the final result isn’t close enough for Donald Trump or his allies to screw with. Overwhelming vote turnout is the antidote to all of this.
