What is going on with Rand Paul?
During the course of this pandemic lockdown, we’ve all let ourselves go a bit. Haircuts have become wacky. Shoes have become optional. We’re all going a bit Howard Hughes at this point – even politicians. Senator Tim Kaine showed up to a hearing yesterday looking like he was a bank robber from the old west. But even with all this said, something seems off about Rand Paul right now.
Yes, there’s always been something off about Rand Paul. The guy is an anti-government nutjob whose personal version of “don’t tread on me” is more like “don’t tread on the wealthy.” And he’s the kind of turd who randomly tried to pick a fight with Dr. Fauci yesterday for no good reason. But the reality is that during yesterday’s hearing, Rand Paul looked like absolute hell.
Regardless of whatever you think of him, Rand Paul does not look well. In fact he looks like he’s in bad enough shape right now that if I liked him, I’d be worried for him. Keep in mind that Paul tested positive for coronavirus and then tested negative fourteen days later, and he claims to have been asymptomatic the entire time. But now he looks like he’s aged ten years in those two weeks?
Did Rand Paul simply let himself go during his quarantine? That would be understandable. Or is there more to the story? When a U.S. Senator recovers from a coronavirus infection that didn’t even make him sick to begin with, but he now looks this unhealthy, it’s cause for concern – and we deserve answers.
