Donald Trump caught in yet another ugly bailout scandal
Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats think that bailouts should go to solid businesses that are legitimately struggling due to the current economic crisis. Donald Trump and the Republicans think that bailouts should go to their corporate cronies and donors so that kickbacks can ensue.
Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich is calling out yet another ugly Donald Trump bailout scandal, this time centering around a Trump donor:
Billionaire Monty Bennett secured $96,000,000 in federal bailouts for his hotel empire, despite laying off 95% of his employees.
The same month Bennett made a $50,000 donation to Trump’s reelection committee.
Talk about a big return on investment.

Donald Trump has always run his businesses this corruptly over the years, so it’s no surprise that he’s trying to run the government this corruptly. These cronies had better watch out though. Not only do they risk taking a hit in the reputational department for this kind of thing, they also risk potential legal scrutiny once Trump is gone from office.
