Donald Trump crashes and burns

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

In addition to being an incompetent, narcissistic boor, “president” Donald Trump is in denial. Reuters and several other outlets reported that Trump refuses to believe that Joe Biden is leading him in the very states he so desperately needs to win reelection. His initial reaction was to threaten to “sue” Brad Parscale, his campaign manager. Then, he said the most absurd thing he could ever say: “I don’t believe the polls. I believe the people of this country are smart. And I don’t think they will put a man in who’s incompetent.” Seriously? What is Trump if not incompetent? Trump further said that Biden’s foreign policy was “a disaster.” Like Trump’s tariffs or his sucking up to dictators?

Psychology Today defines psychological projection as a “defense mechanism people subconsciously employ in order to cope with difficult feelings or emotions.” The problem with Trump is that he does not have feelings and likely few emotions beyond envy and hate. Instead, Trump uses psychological projection to distract from his own shortcomings and lies. He continues to delude himself that he has done a “fantastic” job overseeing the coronavirus. Trump is joined in his delusion by his son-in-law Jared Kushner, who claimed on Fox & Friends that the administration’s response to coronavirus has been “a great success story.” According to HuffPost, Susan Rice, former national security adviser under President Obama, gave Kushner quite a tongue lashing over his “ridiculous” claim. Kushner, not surprisingly, failed to mention the one million plus cases in the U.S. and 60,000 deaths. Sounds like a roaring success.

These are people who have spent their entire lives living up to a picture they have painted of themselves that only they can see. As President Abraham Lincoln said many years ago, “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” Trump certainly has his share of fools, but most Americans are not falling for it. After threatening the messenger, Parscale, Trump then took to Twitter to display his support for Parscale. Trump is clearly showing his instability and ever loosening grip on reality. He even told Reuters that “China” wants him to lose. Paranoid much?

Trump claims that China’s handling of coronavirus is proof that they want him to lose. Excuse me, what? No, China tried to hide the virus numbers, according to U.S. Intelligence, while Trump decided to just pretend the virus did not exist. Trump is merely doing what he does best: grasping for straws and trying to deflect our attention from his incompetence. According to Trump, China wants Joe Biden because of “all the pressure” he put on China with tariffs. Bless his heart, he still fails to understand that Americans and not China pay the lion’s share of his tariffs.

Trump is going down in flames, and he knows it. He is trying to grasp onto every twig, bush and tree on his way down. None of them will be strong enough to support him. He is destined to fail.
