Legal expert explains why it’s literally impossible for Donald Trump to postpone the election
Now that Donald Trump’s already-low odds of winning reelection have fallen even further thanks to his mishandling of the coronavirus crisis, the fatalists within the Resistance have decided the Trump is simply going to magically postpone the election. How would this even happen? The fatalists never do seem to have that answer.
Legal expert Marc Elias has explained in a new video why Donald Trump literally can’t postpone the election. That power belongs solely to Congress, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is obviously not going to sign off on not having an election:
Thanks @marceelias for explaining why Trump can't change the election. We must start preparing for the November elections now.

Joe Biden said this week that he wouldn’t be shocked if Donald Trump tries to postpone the election. But the key word there is “tries.” Trump has made a number of threats that he’s known are impossible, for the sole purpose of trying to scare us into believing that he can magically pull it off, thus causing us to waste time fighting him over imaginary battles instead of real ones.
Biden is doing the right thing by pointing out that Donald Trump will try to float some imaginary threat about postponing the election. With so many people within the Resistance currently worried about this imaginary doomsday scenario, it’s better for Biden to put it out there, so we can talk about it, and make sure everyone knows that Trump will automatically fail if he “tries” to do any such thing. What we really need to focus on are voter registration, voter turnout, and fighting against voter suppression – not sitting around and panicking over imaginary scenarios. We have enough real things to worry about.
