Donald Trump just stepped in it

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $2097 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

Donald Trump keeps holding these daily press briefings because he mistakenly thinks they’re helping his sinking reelection prospects, or because he just enjoys being a belligerent clown, or both. Part of the trouble for Trump is that he’s spending each day handing his adversaries a series of easy talking points to use against him heading into the election.

When Trump called on respected PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor today, she asked him about the political rallies he was holding in February, after he’d already been briefed about the severity of the coronavirus crisis, and the message that his rallies sent to the American people. Trump responded by saying that he didn’t know if he held rallies in February.

Wait a minute here. He doesn’t know? HE DOESN’T KNOW? He doesn’t remember if he was at his own rallies? Was he unconscious? Did he have a stroke? Was he on drugs? It would explain his slurred speech. But seriously, Trump just stepped in it. He just gave away that he has no way of explaining away his February rallies. As the general election heats up, TV ad after TV ad is going to shove this down Trump’s throat.
