Donald Trump isn’t even trying to hide it

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $2097 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

For weeks, Donald Trump has been publicly begging Congress to give him funding to buy up oil reserves. It was clear why all along: Trump is personally loyal to Vladimir Putin and the Saudi royal family, who are both big sellers of oil, and Trump has wanted to prop them up as oil prices have plummeted during the worldwide pandemic.

Today the bottom fell out of the oil market entirely, to the point that oil futures are now selling at a negative price. If Donald Trump had been allowed to buy up oil reserves a few weeks ago like he wanted to, he would have massively overpaid for it in comparison to what he’d be paying today. We all knew oil prices were going to fall further, but Trump wanted to overpay anyway, to help out his oil-selling overlords.

During his press conference this evening, Donald Trump repeated his request for funding so he could buy up even more oil. We all know what he’s trying to do. He’s trying to help Putin and MBS by propping up falling oil prices. He’s not even trying to hide it anymore.
