Joe Biden just nailed it

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Continuing to display his leadership skills, Joe Biden has pledged to wear a mask in public, according to Politico. Biden continues to show the stark contrast between himself and “president” Donald Trump who, instead of following science, follows the advice of his son-in-law, who has zero medical training. His stubborn refusal to listen to people who are more knowledgeable about health risks in general continues to put our lives in danger. By refusing to listen to health experts, he is causing the very economic collapse he complains incessantly about.

Joe Biden, on the other hand, advises us to “follow the science.” Even as Trump tries to tout the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine as a miracle cure, Dr. Anthony Fauci is shooting him down. It shouldn’t be surprising to realize how many lies Trump has told during the pandemic, but you would think when people’s lives are at stake, he might try to tone it down. CNN put together a list of all his lies juxtaposed against the truth, and it’s eye-opening. Let’s review two of the most egregious, starting with his claims about hydroxychloroquine.

This drug is under testing and has not been approved for use with COVID-19. In fact, a recent Pentagon report warned that hydroxychloroquine “could be dangerous to use for coronavirus patients due to potentially toxic side effects.” An Arizona couple took Trump’s advice, and the husband died. The wife was critical but is now recovering. Believe what you like, but that man’s death is on Trump’s hands.

On March 11, Trump told us that the risk of contracting the disease is “very, very low” for “young, healthy” people. According to CNN, 29% of cases involve people in the age range of 20 to 44. Most of those people were not “unhealthy” prior to the outbreak of coronavirus. Dr. Deborah Birx, who is part of Trump’s task force, said that they are “concerned” about the number of reports coming in of young people becoming seriously ill. They are also the group most likely to spread the virus, and Trump’s sycophant Republican governors are apparently blissfully ignorant to these facts. Ron DeSantis allowed Florida beaches to remain open for spring break, creating a breeding ground among untold numbers of college students. In Georgia, Brian Kemp declared a state-wide stay in place order, but he then decided to open the beaches this past weekend, which was immediately rebuked by the Mayor of Tybee Island.

This is not the type of leadership we need during this dangerous pandemic. We need someone like Joe Biden who doesn’t mind wearing a mask in public to encourage others to do the same. He, alongside his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, held a COVID-19 town hall Sunday evening, which included a physician, to answer questions about the virus. Instead of doing something useful, Trump is telling everyone that these next two weeks are going to be “very bad.” Biden consistently, publicly stated that the Trump administration moved too slowly on the virus. He is correct and look at where we are now. Biden’s leadership abilities are apparent while Trump continues to fail us.
