Now we know why Donald Trump suddenly changed his mind about holding a press conference today

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

At around noon eastern time today, the Trump White House announced that there was a full lid, meaning there would not be a press conference today. Then at around 6pm, the Trump regime announced that it would indeed be holding a press conference at 7pm. Then Trump tweeted that he would be holding it at 6:45pm, and oddly specific time. Now we know why.

What happened was that Joe Biden announced that he would be holding an online roundtable with former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy and others, scheduled to start at 7pm. This was pretty clearly what prompted Donald Trump to change his mind and suddenly decide that he needed to do a press conference after all.

Trump’s White House made a point of trying to schedule it for the exact same time as Biden’s event. Trump then tried to one-up it by announcing he was starting his event fifteen minutes before Biden’s event. Come on, we know exactly what’s going on here. You can watch Joe Biden’s event here.
