Nancy Pelosi drops the hammer on Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell

Republican Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is now insisting that Donald Trump only failed in his coronavirus response because he was impeached. In so doing, McConnell is admitting that Trump failed in his response. We expected that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi would seize on this, and sure enough, she already has.

Nancy Pelosi appeared on CNN this afternoon and dropped the hammer on both Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell: “I think that’s an admission that perhaps the president and the Majority Leader cannot handle the job.” She added, “ They should not try to hide behind an excuse for why they did not take action.”
