Donald Trump’s incoherent meltdown about drug cartels isn’t exactly going over well

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s negligent, dishonest, psychotic failure in the coronavirus crisis has now cost thousands of Americans their lives, as the death toll continues to climb. He’s guilty of mass murder, and he knows that if he loses the election, he’ll go to prison for it. So now he’s trying a bizarre new approach: blaming it all on drug cartels or something.

Trump held a press conference today with the Attorney General and the Secretary of Defense so he could announce a plan to fight the drug dealers who are supposedly taking advantage of the coronavirus crisis. To be clear, there is no evidence that any such thing is happening, or that any such plan to combat it exists.

This was nothing more than yet another attempt at scaring Americans into believing that the Mexicans are coming to get them, and that the only way to stop these imaginary Mexican caravans is to give Donald Trump another four years. This obviously isn’t going to work. New polling today shows that Trump’s approval rating numbers in this crisis keep falling. Press conferences about caravans won’t save him.
