Joe Biden’s big day
Joe Biden has spent days holding press briefings that the cable news networks have simply refused to air. So today Biden decided to change the game. Biden booked himself onto a number of high profile TV shows, and carved out a major chunk of media coverage in the process.
Biden started things off by appearing on The View on ABC. Then he also appeared on CNN and MSNBC as the day went on. Each time he showed up on television, he came across as confident, knowledgeable, reassuring, and frankly presidential. It was a reminder of why Biden was able to steamroll his way to the Democratic nomination, back before the media decided to all but stop covering the 2020 presidential race.
We’ll see where it goes from here. Now that Joe Biden has used these TV appearances to inform millions of people that he’s been doing daily press briefings, there may be enough public demand that the cable news networks will have to start airing them. At the least, Biden has put to bed the ridiculous false narrative that he’s somehow disappeared over the past week.
