Donald Trump Jr has utterly bizarre meltdown after his dad blows it

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $2097 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

Each time Donald Trump goes on television and says something dangerous and stupid, Donald Trump Jr goes on Twitter and says something even more dangerous and stupid in the name of trying to defend his father. Junior may have taken the cake this time.

Donald Trump is falsely claiming that the FDA has approved a malaria drug called chloroquine for the treatment of coronavirus. While the FDA is indeed doing clinical trials, nothing has been determined yet about the effectiveness or safety involved. In general, chloroquine is a dangerous drug with serious side effects, and its use has to be weighed carefully against a number of other factors.

Just don’t tell that to Donald Trump Jr. Even as the media works to try to minimize the damage that Donald Trump’s misinformation is doing, Junior is busy tweeting impossibly stupid things like this:

.

We’re not even sure where to start. Did it never occur to Donald Trump Jr that since the President of the United States is falsely telling people the drug is an approved treatment for coronavirus, desperate people might resort to taking too much of it while self medicating? In fact, multiple people have already landed in the hospital as a result of Trump’s false claims about the drug. But don’t tell that to Junior, who seems to think it’s as safe as caffeine, or whatever the idiot was trying to say.
