Donald Trump’s deranged racist “Chinese Virus” tweet isn’t exactly going over well

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump tried to strike a more conciliatory tone today, insisting during his press conference that the media has being “very fair” and so on. The trouble is, even this new and non-rabid version of Donald Trump is still Donald Trump. To that end, he just posted a tweet that’s racist beyond belief.

Trump tweeted what he apparently thought was some kind of inspirational message: “The United States will be powerfully supporting those industries, like Airlines and others, that are particularly affected by the Chinese Virus. We will be stronger than ever before!”

Wait, no, stop, you idiot! It’s not the “Chinese Virus.” What is he doing? Why would Trump even go there? This is destructive even when he’s occasionally trying to get it right. Also, it’s notable that his tweet is only focused on supporting the American industries that have been affected by the coronavirus, even as he continues to not bother trying to provide support to the American people who have been affected by the coronavirus.
