Joe Biden has won the states of Michigan, Mississippi, and Missouri tonight, meaning he’s all but certain to be the 2020 Democratic nominee for President. Now he’s gotten even more good news, as far as what happens next.

Bernie Sanders has a difficult decision to make about whether he wants to drop out this week and endorse Joe Biden in exchange for some policy concessions, or if he wants to keep plowing forward for awhile longer with a dead-end candidacy. One that thing can help make Bernie’s decision easier is if things are about to get so overwhelmingly ugly for him, he realizes there’s no point in continuing.

So it matters greatly that even as Joe Biden was racking up his big wins today, new polling data arrived that points to even more big wins for him. A new poll in Florida has Biden up by 36 points, which helps to confirm last week’s startling poll that had him up by 47 points.

Florida votes next Tuesday, and the prospect of a Biden blowout victory should help make Sanders’ decision for him. But even if Sanders still doesn’t want to get out of the race after that, new polls have Biden up by 28 points in Pennsylvania, and – shockingly – Biden up by 11 points in the would-be Sanders stronghold of Wisconsin. If Sanders doesn’t drop out, Biden’s huge win in these states will only solidify the perception that he’s the de facto nominee.
