Donald Trump dive bombs completely off the deep end

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has tried to downplay the coronavirus. He also has bragged about the stock market and how great things are with the economy. This week, he held a town hall with Fox News, and he said several of the dumbest things, and also dangerous things. For instance he made it very clear that he was “cutting” Social Security and Medicare.

He also spoke about the coronavirus and how it could be good for the economy. Trump was asked if he thought the coronavirus crisis would impact the United States economy and his re-election. Trump stated that the Dow was heading toward, and was set to hit 30,000, a number nobody ever thought possible. In reality the stock market has plummeted to below 26,000 over the past two weeks.

Trump also stated: “A lot of people are staying here. They’re going to be doing their business here. They’re going to be traveling here. They’ll be going to resorts here. And, you know, we have a great place … we’re going to have Americans staying home.” After all of that stupidity, Trump on Friday reported with respect to coronavirus, “We closed it down … we stopped it.”

Initially, Trump was staying away from the CDC. According to a White House statement: “The CDC has been proactive and prepared since the very beginning and the president does not want to interfere with the CDC’s mission to protect the health and welfare of their people and the agency.”

Then he changed his mind and visited the CDC and while having his two top medical experts next to him, praised Fox News for its reporting. He then said that the Americans on stuck on a cruise ship would not be allowed to disembark because it was “not our fault” and he did not want the number of infected Americans to double. This is not only cruel, it doesn’t even make sense.
