Joe Biden will hold a rally in Oakland tomorrow morning… hmm, wonder why.

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This evening we’re seeing everyone from Amy Klobuchar, to Pete Buttigieg, to Beto O’Rourke endorse Joe Biden at his Texas rally. It’s not difficult to parse why Biden is holding a rally there tonight. Texas votes tomorrow, and Biden is a few points down in the state, but he’s surging and has a chance to win. Tomorrow morning, Biden is heading to Oakland. Here’s where things get interesting.

California also votes tomorrow, so it’s no surprise Biden is holding a rally in the state. He’s highly unlikely to win the state, but with a strong second place showing, he can pick off a large number of delegates. What’s intriguing is that he’s chosen Oakland for his Tuesday morning rally. African-American voters in South Carolina showed an overwhelming preference for Biden, so he’s surely looking to replicate that in California. But Oakland is far from the only California city with a large African-American population.

One thing to keep in mind is that Kamala Harris kicked off her own presidential campaign in Oakland, and drew a massive crowd in the process. With every other mainstream Democrat now lining up to endorse Joe Biden, the question is what Kamala will do. If she shows up at Biden’s rally in the morning and endorses him, that could really help drive turnout for him in California. It’s worth keeping an eye on. If Kamala is going to be there, they’ll likely leak it tonight, so her supporters know to show up.
