Elizabeth Warren just scored a major celebrity endorsement in the wake of her strong debate performance

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last night Palmer Report rated Elizabeth Warren the “winner” of the latest 2020 Democratic primary debate, thanks to her commanding overall performance and her takedown of trendy candidate Mike Bloomberg. It turns out we weren’t the only ones who saw it that way. Immediately after the debate concluded, Warren picked up a major celebrity endorsement as a result of her performance.

In the internet era, we suspect that a celebrity endorsement can carry more weight than a newspaper endorsement. Further, Saturday Night Live viewers are well aware that Leslie Jones has spent the past several years in the thick of politics, as a cast member and a sketch writer. So it’s potentially a big deal that she tweeted this after the debate:

There are two ways to look at this. One is the possibility that Leslie Jones’ endorsement could specifically sway voters toward Elizabeth Warren. The other possibility is that Jones’ take on the debate is simply an example of the impact that Warren’s performance had on voters. Either way, we’re expecting Warren’s poll numbers to climb as this week goes on.
