Just like clockwork, there it is!

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier this evening, someone leaked to the New York Times that John Bolton’s upcoming book included confirmation of Donald Trump’s quid pro quo in his Ukraine scandal. The NYT story mentioned that Bolton had given advance copies of his book to his associates. The only way the NYT could have known that was if one of those associates was the source of the leak. And of course Bolton’s associates wouldn’t be leaking this kind of thing without his instruction.

But if that logic wasn’t enough to convince you that John Bolton leaked this revelation from his book because he wants to testify in the Senate impeachment trial and therefore drive sales of his very lucrative book, then what happened just now should be enough to prove it to you.

Like clockwork, John Bolton’s new book has just become available for preorder on Amazon. It wasn’t there when the Times story first broke this evening, but it’s since gone live. Of course it has. Why hype a book if you’re not going to make it available? It says the estimated release date isn’t until March 17th, but that’s not so relevant. The point is that if Bolton testifies to the Senate this week or next week, it’ll instantly drive preorder sales.

It’s worth keeping in mind that even if the Republican Senate decides not to call John Bolton to testify during the impeachment trial, the House can hold a public hearing at any time and have Bolton testify. In any case, now that Bolton is officially taking preorders for his book, he’ll likely be looking to testify sooner rather than later.
