Lindsey Graham goes utterly berserk as it all falls apart for him

Over the weekend Lindsey Graham went on live national television and had a meltdown about a dead cat. You’d think he couldn’t find a way to top that in the screwiness department, at least so quickly. But on Monday, Graham threw a complete tirade over the fact that Donald Trump’s Senate impeachment trial isn’t going the way he might have hoped.

Lindsey Graham is very upset that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is waiting to release the articles of impeachment until the Senate makes at least some concessions toward holding a fair trial. Graham thinks this is a “Constitutional outrage” and that “If this continues into 2020, the Senate needs to strike back, standing up for our rights and ending this debacle.” Of course no one has any idea what that means.

Graham says that if Pelosi doesn’t immediately release the articles of impeachment, “Senate Republicans should take matters into our own hands. We are in charge of the Senate — not Pelosi or Schumer.” This is unintentionally hilarious. Graham is apparently threatening to hold a Senate impeachment trial with no House impeachment managers, in direct violation of the Constitution. If Graham’s boss Mitch McConnell were stupid enough to go along with this idea, it would play so poorly, it would all but guarantee that the Democrats take majority control of the Senate in 2020.

But hey, no one is accusing Lindsey Graham of playing with a full deck here. He’s a mentally incompetent ticking timebomb who’s trying to advocate for Donald Trump, who’s also a mentally incompetent ticking timebomb. Remarkably, Trump retweeted much of Graham’s rubber-room lunatic Twitter meltdown. Trump and Graham can stomp htheiris feet and whine and cry and rant about dead cats they want; it’s merely a sign that they know they’re losing.
