If there has been one constant in Donald Trump’s White House over the past few years, it’s been the constant personnel turnover. Too many of Trump’s people have been fired, or resigned amid scandal, or resigned in protest, or been indicted, to count. Now it turns out Trump’s impeachment is setting up another personnel exodus.

We all watched Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney set himself on fire in front of the cameras when he confessed that Donald Trump was guilty of trying to criminally extort Ukraine. The incident helped fuel the public’s desire to see Trump impeached. Now it tuns out Mulvaney is a goner, according to Politico, and he’s just waiting to make his resignation official until after impeachment is finished. Here’s the thing: we don’t think he’s the only one.

If Mick Mulvaney is just waiting until the impeachment process is over before he makes his resignation official, how many other of Trump’s people are impeachment casualties, and are just waiting for the right time before bolting? Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and others are prime candidates, considering how poorly impeachment has gone for him. What’s remarkable is that Trump is in the last year of his term, and yet he’s about to have a number of key holes in his administration. The depleted Trump administration barely exists as it is, and now it’s about to get even emptier.
