Donald Trump caught retweeting bizarre fake account
Donald Trump now routinely floods his Twitter account with so many dozens of retweets, throwaway tweets, and generic agreement tweets each day, it can be difficult to keep track of them all. Then again, that may be the point. For instance Trump just retweeted a self-identified Jewish man in New York who is now voting for Trump in 2020 because of impeachment. Apparently we weren’t supposed to notice that the account is fake, and that it may have been created specifically so Trump could retweet it.
Donald Trump retweeted a guy named “Joseph From Boro Park” who claimed in his Twitter bio that because of the actions of his local Congressman Jerry Nadler, he’ll be voting for Trump. But NBC News reporter Ben Collins noticed that the account had only been created the day before, and that Trump retweeted the very first tweet that the account posted. Also, the account used a fake profile picture that was stolen from a newspaper.
Sure enough, the Twitter account in question has since been suspended – presumably for being obviously fake. This raises the question of whether Donald Trump and/or his social media handlers just happened to come across an obscure tweet from a brand new fake account that perfectly fit their messaging, or if perhaps Trump’s social media team created this fake account so it could retweet it.
Twitter should investigate this matter. If Donald Trump and/or his handlers are indeed creating fake Twitter accounts just so Trump can retweet them, then some kind of action has to be taken against Trump’s Twitter account. It’s bad enough that he’s been using it lately to attack teenage girls and widows.
