Donald Trump goes completely berserk as impeachment eats him alive
While the impeachment process has always been a solemn and grave experience, one that our Founders put in the Constitution for only the most blatant and severe abuses of power, it has become a congressional procedure that cannot simply be ignored. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, on Thursday in the Capitol’s imperial Rayburn Room, spoke of the “solemn” duty to act as a check on the president.
Despite Trump’s public assertion that he feels zero pressure or anxiety due to his impeachment hearings, his actions and tweets tend to reveal the opposite. Starting when Trump woke up on Thursday morning until he finally went to bed, he tweeted or retweeted more than a hundred and twenty times. This excessive level of tweeting is often evidence of either Trump’s anxiety or an effort to change the subject.
At 7:22am EST on Thursday, Trump actually attacked a global hero, Greta Thunberg, apparently for the sole reason of being chosen as TIME’s Person of The Year. “So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!” Trump tweeted.
While it’s clear that Trump is an insecure individual, as evidenced by basically his entire life, such an attack on a teenager is a new low. We could debate the reasons for Trump’s tweet for weeks, but that’s probably what Trump wants. While we waste our time trying to understand why Trump attacked a global hero, he allows himself to commit more crimes in the dark.
Decades from now there should be an accurate view of what occurred, and hopefully by then, history can judge us. With an illegitimate POTUS tweeting over 100 times in a single day, clearly exhibiting signs of mental derangement, one might think history would ignore his tweets. While that’s possible, it’s more important than ever to do what you can to rid America from such a potent enemy. When history catches up, we can all be happy knowing we were part of the solution.
