This is a complete joke
Right now the House Judiciary Committee is undertaking one of the most solemn tasks that an elected official can undertake: ratifying articles of impeachment against the President of the United States. Wait, let me rephrase that. The Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee are undertaking one of the most solemn tasks that an elected official can undertake. The Republicans on the committee are… well, there’s no word for it.
None of the House Republicans on committee are even bothering to argue the facts or evidence, because they know that the facts and evidence prove that Donald Trump is 100% guilty. Instead they’re doing their best to make a total farce of the proceedings. One of them somehow tried to assert that Trump is only being impeached because of – you can’t make this up – Kathy Griffin and Robert De Niro. If that’s the case, then congratulations to Kathy Griffin and Robert De Niro.
But really, this is just so inappropriate and embarrassing. One of the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee tried to confuse the issue by listing off all of the horrible and criminal things that Donald Trump has done wrong over the past few years, just so he could assert that Trump didn’t do any of it. The net result was that he merely reminded everyone watching that Trump has been committing crimes the entire time he’s been in politics. These House Republicans are every bit as inept at this as they are corrupt at this.
Of course the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee are only performing for an audience of one right now. They know that Donald Trump is a dead weight anchor who’s going to harm their odds of reelection in 2020 just by being at the top of the ticket. But they also fear that if they fail to adequately kiss the lunatic’s backside, he might run a Republican primary challenger against them. So they’re all on television right now, destroying whatever credibility and self respect they might have had, begging a mentally unstable monster to show them favor. Nothing they say in these hearings will stop Trump from being impeached – and history will remember them as nothing less than traitors.
