This will go nowhere

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Attorney General Bill Barr has found the magic wand that’s going to magically save Donald Trump – and this time he means it. Pundits are in a panic right now because Barr is reportedly planning to dump a bunch of phony conspiracy theory crap into the public forum right before Thanksgiving, just as the televised House impeachment hearings against Trump are reaching their stride.

Here’s thing: this will go nowhere. In case that wasn’t clear enough, I’ll say it again: this will go nowhere. How do I know? We’ve already seen that Bill Barr’s nonsense never goes anywhere. Remember when he leaked that Andrew McCabe had been indicted? There was no indictment. Remember when he leaked that he had launched a criminal inquiry into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe? After the pundits dry heaved about it for a day, it ended up going nowhere.

Bill Barr has had precisely one successful moment since joining the Trump regime. He lied about what was in the Mueller report, and the mainstream media briefly gave him the benefit of the doubt because he was new on the job. Everything Barr has tried since then has been a failure, largely because the media no longer takes his BS at face value.

So yeah, Bill Barr can publish all the conspiracy theory nonsense he wants during the impeachment hearings. The worst pundits on Fox News will eat up, but that won’t matter, because their audience already opposed impeachment. Whatever Barr is planning, it won’t change a single mind when it comes to impeachment. It won’t help Trump one bit. All it’ll do is give the increasingly mentally compromised Trump the illusion that he’s winning, because the braindead lunatic now fully believes every one of these psychotic conspiracy theories. But back in the real world, Barr’s stunt will have no impact. The media will waste one news cycle picking it apart, and then we’ll be right back to impeachment.
