This doesn’t sound good for Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Even as most eyes were on a court battle over Charles Kupperman’s impeachment testimony that ended up getting pushed to December, and Kupperman’s testimony may end up not mattering now that his former boss John Bolton appears poised to testify, another court battle played out over an entirely different witness: Don McGahn.

All along, House Democrats have been trying to legally force former White House Counsel Don McGahn to testify about Donald Trump’s obstruction of justice crimes, as documented in the Mueller report. But the courts can move at a glacial pace on these things, and so it wasn’t until today that the case finally got serious in front of a judge.

Suffice it to say that the hearing went very poorly for the Trump regime. The judge all but laughed at arguments that Don McGahn has “absolute immunity” – a gibberish term that the White House made up to describe a form of privilege that doesn’t exist.

It’s not entirely clear when the judge will issue her ruling. But considering that the impeachment process is playing out as we speak, we suspect it will come fairly soon now. And the judge’s remarks today make clear that she’s not exactly inclined to rule in Trump’s favor. In other words, Don McGahn is likely going to end up having to testify against Trump after all.
