Trump White House official goes out with a bang

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

With each passing day, the downfall of Donald Trump begins to more closely resemble a movie script. We’ve had a respected military official testify to Congress that he witnessed the President committing crimes, in a scene straight out of a Jack Ryan movie. We’ve seen a key witness who has a twin brother who is also a key witness. How many more movie moments are coming?

If you’ve been waiting for someone to resign from Donald Trump’s White House on their way into testifying against Donald Trump, well, actually that’s already happened twice, with Kurt Volker and Michael McKinley. But now it’s happening again, this time in more high profile fashion.

National Security Council official Tim Morrison is set to testify against Donald Trump to the House impeachment inquiry on Thursday. That could make things awkward for Morrison when he shows up for work at the White House on Friday after his testimony, except he won’t be showing up for work ever again. According to NPR, Morrison straight up resigned on his way out of work on Wednesday.

NPR says that Tim Morrison was planning to eventually leave the job anyway. But it raises the question of just how many people are going to end up resigning from the Trump White House during the course of this scandal. Come to think of it, by the time this is over, there may not be a Trump White House anyway.
