Nancy Pelosi unloads on Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3360 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

This morning Donald Trump gave away just how afraid he was of Colonel Alexander Vindman’s impeachment testimony, when he launched a surreal and dishonest attack on Vindman’s character. This didn’t prevent the Colonel from going ahead and testifying, but it did prompt Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to step in and drop the hammer.

Donald Trump posted this tweet in apparent reference to Colonel Vindman: “How many more Never Trumpers will be allowed to testify about a perfectly appropriate phone call when all anyone has to do is READ THE TRANSCRIPT! I knew people were listening in on the call (why would I say something inappropriate?), which was fine with me, but why so many?”

It’s tough to know where to even start with this. The phone call summary wasn’t a transcript. Vindman doesn’t fit anyone’s definition of a “Never Trumper.” Trump also seems to be unwittingly implying that he would only say something inappropriate if he thought no one was listening in. But don’t take our word for it, because Nancy Pelosi did a better job of it than we could.

Speaker Pelosi quoted Donald Trump’s deranged tweet and she added this response: “Everybody has read your words on the call. The Ukrainian President asks for military aid to fend off the Russian attack, you say “I want you to do us a favor though,” and then you spend the rest of the call asking for bogus investigations to smear your political opponents.”
