WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? [updated]

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Update, 11:15pm โ€“ it’s apparently a military stunt. โ€“โ€“ Donald Trump has been having a rough day. State Department official Philip Reeker gave eight hours of testimony against him to the House impeachment inquiry, and by all accounts, it was terrible for Trump. This comes one day after the courts ruled that the impeachment inquiry is fully valid. So now Trump has responded by… well, we’re really not sure what he just did.

Trump just tweeted “Something very big has just happened!” That’s it. That’s the end of his tweet. That was ten minutes ago, and thus far he still hasn’t bothered to explain what he’s talking about or what this is supposed to mean. It could be that he’s rolled out some new policy that he’s not telling us about. Or based on the increasing random lunacy of his tweets over the past few days, it could be that he just found his remote control hidden in the couch cushions.

This kind of stunt on Trump’s part really is particularly dangerous. As we speak, federal agencies and the U.S. military are probably sitting there and staring at their screens in limbo. Trump seems to think it’s cute that he’s holding our attention hostage like this, but in reality, it’s just further evidence that lunatic isn’t fit to be President of the United States.

Responses thus far to Donald Trump’s idiotic tweet have been brutal. People are sarcastically asking if he’s resigned, or if he’s been arrested, or making fun of the fact that his announcement is likely to end up being something completely pointless. Yesterday Trump posted a tweet complaining about a change to the iPhone interface that was made two years ago. For all we know he could be about to announce that he’s changed his mind and he likes the new iPhone interface after all.
