House Democrat reveals Bill Taylor’s impeachment testimony today was “incredibly damning” against Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

You knew that Donald Trump knew it was going to be a bad day for him when he woke up and made the depravedly racist claim that his impeachment was a “lynching” just to try to draw attention from State Department official Bill Taylor’s testimony to the House impeachment inquiry. Sure enough, Taylor’s testimony has turned out to be horrible for Trump.

Just how bad is it? Democratic Congressman Ted Lieu emerged from Bill Taylor’s testimony and announced to the media that it was “incredibly damning to the president of the United States.” Congressman Andy Levin referred to it as “my most disturbing day in Congress.” Someone in the room said that there were “a lot of sighs and gasps” over Taylor’s opening statement.

We’d been expecting Bill Taylor’s testimony to be the ugliest for Donald Trump to date, because he’s the one who made a point of objecting in a text message to Trump’s Ukraine quid pro quo. He had a front row seat for Trump’s Ukraine scandal, making him one of the most important witnesses, and his previous actions made clear that he wanted nothing to do with it.

So we’re not surprised at these reports of Bill Taylor’s testimony having been a bodyblow to Donald Trump. It’s nonetheless striking to see the stunned reactions from the people in the room. Now we wait for Taylor’s opening statement to be formally released, along with the inevitable leaks about what Taylor specifically said, as the day goes on.
