Donald Trump just found a new way to sink to a whole new low

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“President” Donald J. Trump has been on a campaign to justify his removal of the final U.S. troops from Syria. Initially, he claimed that the Kurds had not assisted the United States during World War II, trying to hide the reality that he is helping his puppet masters Erdogan and Putin with his actions. As always, just when we thought that he could not go any lower, he of course did.

The Commander in the Chiefly Repugnant tweeted on Monday: “After defeating 100% of the ISIS Caliphate, I largely moved our troops out of Syria. Let Syria and Assad protect the Kurds and fight Turkey for their own land. I said to my Generals, why should we be fighting for Syria and Assad to protect the land of our enemy? Anyone who wants to assist Syria in protecting the Kurds is good with me, whether it is Russia, China, or Napoleon Bonaparte. I hope they all do great, we are 7,000 miles away!”

Maybe he was trying to channel First Lady Melania’s jacket, “I really don’t care, do U,” with his reference to Napoleon Bonaparte. More importantly, his tweets ignore warnings from many with more (read: any) expertise than Trump that his removal of troops abruptly and knowingly allowing Turkey to attack will permit ISIS to reassert power in that region, and 7,000 miles away or not, is not a good thing on the world stage. Trump also apparently has no idea how to sort out who our enemies are, and to address them appropriately. His alignment with dictators and folks who are not friends of the United States continues to puzzle.

And if his own tweets are incredible, his retweets are shameful. He retweeted the following trash from a lawyer turned entertainer who should know better: “Serial killers get more Due Process than the Democrats give to the President of the United States.” Speaker Pelosi and the House, please proceed expeditiously.
