Rudy Giuliani goes bonkers after he finds out he’s going down
Yesterday, multiple major news outlets reported that Rudy Giuliani is the target of a federal criminal investigation into the antics that he and his two recently arrested co-conspirators have been carrying out in Ukraine. Rudy, who has largely pulled back on his tweets and TV appearances since the arrests took place, seemed to be a bit perturbed to learn today that he is indeed the target.
Rudy Giuliani appeared on CNN today and initially claimed not to even be aware that he’s the target of the FBI and SDNY investigation. Okay, perhaps he missed that crucial news report about himself yesterday while he was busy stammering around and muttering Joe Biden’s name ruefully under his breath.
But then a moment later, Rudy tried to claim that because the news had leaked about him being the target of the investigation, it means he can’t possibly be the target. Not only is that bonkers-level backward logic, it’s also ironic, considering Rudy’s history of leaking things about federal investigations.
Just days before the 2016 presidential election, Rudy Giuliani appeared on television and bragged that he knew the FBI had something coming down the pike against Hillary Clinton. Immediately thereafter, then-FBI Director James Comey sent a letter which falsely implied that Clinton was under investigation, which played a key role in handing the election to Rudy’s pal Donald Trump. When the Feds indict Rudy for trying to rig the 2020 election, maybe they can also indict him for his role in helping to rig the 2016 election.
