Donald Trump has completely bonkers late night meltdown after everything goes wrong for him
Donald Trump has been having a rough day today. He made himself look guilty, and foolish, by pulling the plug on Gordon Sondland’s testimony at the last minute. He appears to be on his way to losing the battle to keep the redacted portions of the Mueller Report a secret. Pro-impeachment poll numbers climbed again today. So it’s perhaps not surprising that Trump is doing tonight what he does best: he’s going incoherently berserk.
Late tonight, Donald Trump posted this utterly bizarre tweet: “Gasoline Prices in the State of California are MUCH HIGHER than anywhere else in the Nation ($2.50 vs. $4.50). I guess those very expensive and unsafe cars that they are mandating just aren’t doing the trick! Don’t worry California, relief is on the way. The State doesn’t get it!”
To be clear, that’s not an accurate representation of gas prices by any stretch of the imagination. What’s truly weird is that Trump is claiming California has “unsafe cars,” apparently as a result of the state’s higher fuel efficiency standards. This might be the first time anyone has ever tried to make the argument that better gas mileage makes cars explode or go hurtling off a cliff, or whatever it is that Trump is asserting here.
Donald Trump is also attacking Robert Mueller tonight, in apparent response to the fact that a judge is about to give House Democrats the redacted portions of the Mueller report. By the time the night is over, we half expect Trump to be standing on the White House lawn, barking at the moon in his pajamas, and claiming that Rick Perry made him do it.
