Nickelback just got its revenge on Donald Trump
Nickelback is a band with a huge number of fans, but also a huge number of detractors. Every joke on earth has been made about them. But when Donald Trump took one of the band’s music videos and edited it into a bizarre and dishonest attack on Joe Biden, it painted Nickelback as the good guys for once. After all, they surely didn’t sign off on this crap.
Sure enough, Nickelback has indeed weighed in on the issue by filing an apparent copyright complaint against Donald Trump with Twitter. It turns out Nickelback won. As of this morning, this is what Trump’s tweet now looks like:
That’s right, Nickelback has gotten its revenge on Donald Trump for having been dragged into this mess. The kicker is that Trump quoted the band’s lyric “Look at this photograph” in reference to photo of Joe Biden and his son that he’d had spliced into the Nickelback video, and now no one can even look at the photograph. It’s also notable that, even though Donald Trump’s Twitter account has surely received direct notification of the copyright takedown, no one on Trump’s team has gotten around yet to deleting this tweet. Is no one minding the store?
