Donald Trump just had a completely deranged Oval Office meltdown in front of the television cameras

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Over the past week, the pressure of impeachment has sent Donald Trump hurtling over the edge to the point that he’s now outpacing every cartoonish parody of him that his detractors have ever floated about him. Last night Trump called for a “Civil War” if he’s impeached and removed. This morning Trump called for the arrest of Adam Schiff. This afternoon he tried to top it all by inviting the television cameras into the Oval Office. It didn’t go well for him.

During his fairly brief but nonetheless notable Oval Office meltdown just now, an increasingly incoherent Donald Trump did manage to make a few things clear. Trump is now strongly implying that he’ll expose the identity of the whistleblower, which would be a severe crime on Trump’s part, and it could put the whistleblower’s life in danger.

There are a limited number of people within the Trump administration who ostensibly know the identity of the whistleblower, based on how the complaint was filed. It’s not clear if Donald Trump is actually planning to try to force those people to illegally reveal the whistleblower’s identity, or if Trump is merely rattling off yet another deranged and delusional fantasy.

Either way, Donald Trump is completely out of control. He’s putting this whistleblower in danger, and committing a serious felony, just by saying what he said today – whether he takes concrete steps to try to obtain and expose the whistleblower’s identity. Trump is unraveling in real time, and he keeps making things even worse for himself.
