Rudy Giuliani panics and pulls plug on apparent attempt at meeting with Vladimir Putin for help

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier today, Vladimir Putin sent a clear public message to Donald Trump about not releasing the transcripts of their phone calls, no matter how the impeachment process goes. Putin was sending a clear message: don’t even think about trying to take me down with you. Now it turns out Trump’s personal attorney and human dumpster fire Rudy Giuliani had apparently been planning to run off to try to get help from Putin. No, really.

Rudy Giuliani was planning to participate in a conference on Tuesday which is backed by the Kremlin, and which will include the participation of Putin, according to the Washington Post. This is surreal beyond words, because it very much appeared that Rudy was attending this conference in Armenia to try to get Putin’s help in this unraveling Ukraine scandal.

This week we’ve been wondering what Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin might do in terms of trying to communicate with each other about the scandal, considering that the timeframe is too short to set up an excuse for a face to face meeting, and Trump’s phone calls with world leaders are now being very closely scrutinized.

Interestingly, now that the media has exposed Rudy Giuliani’s secret plot to put himself in the same room as Vladimir Putin, suddenly Rudy has decided that he’s “not going” after all, which is what he just texted to Maggie Haberman of the New York Times. Now that Rudy’s Plan Z has fallen apart, what will he do next?
