“Too little too late” – top House Democrat explains why it’s over for Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

As we speak, the House Democratic caucus is meeting behind closed doors to discuss Donald Trump’s impeachment, and according to several major media outlets, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is expected to announce after the meeting that she and the Democrats are indeed impeaching Trump.

Right around this time, Donald Trump announced to reporters that he’s finally going to release the full unredacted transcript of his phone call with the president of Ukraine, after having bent over backward to suppress it over the past couple weeks. If you’re thinking that this offer is too little too late, you’re not the only one thinking it.

Hakeem Jeffries, the Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, tweeted this in response to Donald Trump’s offer: “Too little, too late. Produce the tax returns, financial records, grand jury material, whistleblower complaint & Don McGahn (to name a few things). Or PIPE DOWN. We got this from here.”

“We got this from here” could end up turning into a rallying cry as we now dive into Donald Trump’s impeachment. We don’t know how Trump will respond to being impeached. The kind of behavior that could truly finish him off is also the kind of behavior that could put the country in grave danger. Interestingly, however, Trump’s only impeachment move thus far today has consisted of trying and failing to essentially bribe Nancy Pelosi into not going through with it.
