Another top Trump adviser bites the dust

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Throughout Donald Trump’s erratic and illegitimate presidency, we’ve seen near-constant turnover of key personnel. Many of them have been fired amid scandal or controversy. Many of them have resigned in protest. Some of them have been criminally indicted. Now yet another key person is biting the dust.

Recently we saw the ouster of Donald Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. While she was an evil racist who should go to prison for her role in locking immigrant children in concentration camps, she apparently wasn’t racist enough for Trump’s taste. Trump ended up naming his Border Patrol chief Kevin McAleenan as his acting Homeland Security Secretary. Now, before McAleenan can even be confirmed for the job, there’s upheaval.

McAleenan’s right hand man Andrew Meehan is abruptly resigning, according to a new Axios report which also says that Trump has now decided not to formally nominate McAleenan as permanent Homeland Security Secretary. In other words, Trump is kneecapping McAleenan already.

Why does this matter? Donald Trump just can’t seem to find anyone in the Department of Homeland Security who’s enough of a murderous racist to run his concentration camps as viciously as he wants them run. When Trump forced Nielsen out, McAleenan was supposed to be the answer. Now Trump is about to lose his acting Homeland Security Secretary, and his permanent Border Patrol chief, all in one fell swoop.
